Our conscious
store concept

Our goal is to get a bit better every day. With the P&C* Conscious Fashion Store Berlin, we have created a place that assists us on this journey. A place to test and establish new approaches in more sustainable fashion and conscious consumption. A platform where we want to shape a more sustainable future together with everyone.

Architecture & Interior

#1 – Fewer walls, fewer resources

We only built structures that were absolutely essential. Compared to a regular store, we saved 900 m2 of plasterboard for the wall coverings alone. This is what more sustainable minimalism looks like.

#2 – Laying the groundwork for the Earth and the environment

If you want to construct a sustainable building, you need to use minimal resources. As a result, our concrete floor offers stunning industrial aesthetics, but also protects our environment by saving on 3,000 m2 of floor covering.

#3 – From yoghurt cups to designer furniture

It might look like marble, but it is actually recycled yoghurt cups. These recycled materials were used to create furniture for our P&C* Conscious Fashion Store. They are not just durable and functional: they also play a key role in reducing waste. Sustainability really can look this good.

#4 – More sustainable textiles

Our curtains are not just regular curtains: the textile for our curtains is produced exclusively in Europe in line with stringent sustainability standards (specifically, the EU ECO Label & Greenguard Gold). Plus, it is renowned for its durability.

#5 – Carpets with a climate certificate

We are taking another step towards a more sustainable future with our more sustainable carpets. The carpets in our store are made from 100 percent recycled PET fibres and have also been awarded a 'Climate Neutral Certificate'.

#6 – Clay, the most eco-friendly material

We turned to the best sustainable building material out there for the P&C* Conscious Fashion Store: clay uses fewer resources, generates less waste and is produced using less energy than pretty much any other material. The clay used in the store is also mined in Germany and can be reused, even after many years. It is a material for the future.

#7 – Sophisticated lighting concept with renewable energies

Less light, more highlights. Using LED ambient lighting with light spots in key locations not only saves us energy in terms of electricity, but also in terms of cooling power for the P&C* Conscious Fashion Store.

#8 – More sustainable fashion from Jake*s Studio

Jake*s Studio expresses what is important to us and what moves us. This private label merges more sustainable products with a progressive aesthetic and an eye for quality. We are creating a space where sustainability and innovation are at the heart of what we do. Our considered approach to resources and the use of more sustainable materials sees us establish an awareness of more sustainable fashion.

#9 – New brands that are reshaping the industry

Alongside our private, more sustainable label Jake*s Studio, we are being joined by lots of other brands on our journey. They include VAUDE, Ecoalf, Knowledge Cotton, Lanius, Drykorn and Colorful Standard – filling the P&C* Conscious Fashion Store with life, inspiration and more sustainable fashion.

#10 – A second lease of life, with Vintage & Rags and our clothes collection box

We have not forgotten about circularity at our store, either. In our second-hand corner, Vintage & Rags breathes new life into much-loved garments. And via our collection box in collaboration with the company TexAid, customers can hand in their sorted out clothes. The collected clothing is then checked and divided into wearable items and recyclable goods. In both ways, the textiles are given the chance to create many more memories and thus contribute to the reduction of waste generation and environmental impact as fewer new products and materials need to be manufactured.

#11 – Our sustainability certificate standard ensures greater clarity

We select sustainability certificates and summarise them in our own sustainability certificate standard to give our customers a helping hand when choosing more sustainable products. As part of this process, we regularly review the standards and set new goals for ourselves.

#12 – Repairs and customisations in our studio

The studio at our P&C* Conscious Fashion Store also stands for innovation and creativity. Alongside repairs and alterations, customers can customise new or used clothing to suit their personal taste and turn an old garment into their new favourite item. When undertaking this work, our experts only use sustainable yarn and GOTS 5.0-certified textile printing dye.

#13 – Insights into more sustainable fashion at events and panel talks

The P&C Conscious Fashion Store is more than just a store. We are creating a platform for conscious fashion, various speakers and events to address sustainability in the fashion industry from a holistic perspective. Within our forum, we want to engage in an open dialogue with everyone (partners, customers), spark critical momentum and have a positive impact on our sector, the textile goods industry.

#14 – Creating things together at exclusive workshops

We organise regular events in the workshop area of our P&C* Conscious Fashion Store in collaboration with our studio, our partner brands and the Fashion Council Germany. These workshops offer our customers the chance to unleash their creativity and enhance their awareness of a more sustainable approach to fashion.
